About Data Protection

We must adhere to all the applicable laws enforced in Japan in all our operations. We must, in particular, display the following disclaimers here according to the laws governing client data protection.

1.Limit of Use for and Method of Acquiring Client Information

We will honour the applicable laws on data protection enforced in Japan to obtain, use and maintain information related to you and will not use such information without your prior consent in writing, by fax or in e-mail outside the business conduct related to the services you requested. For example, we are allowed to pass onto financial institutions the necessary details obtained from you to process the mortgage your application. In such or a similar process, we may be imparted with your credit worthiness upon receiving replies from financial institutions. We are required by applicable laws to maintain any and all such information in strict custody in forms defined by them and we not allowed to disclose them to any other parties.

2.Imparting Third Party with Client Information

Under the following circumstances, your details may be given to third parties.

  1. When you give us your consent to do so.
  2. The governing laws or regulations allow us to do so.
  3. Not giving your details may seriously endanger the life, health or asset of someone or yourself and we cannot contact you.
  4. Not giving your details may jeopardize public order or the prescribed standard of the media for minors where we cannot contact you.
  5. We are instructed by officials with authorities delegated to them by law to do so where we are exempt from obtaining your consent.
  6. We need to do so to execute your contract.
  7. Sales agent appointed by us needs your details to conduct business.

3.Maintaining Awareness on the Guidelines and Regulations

We are obliged to prepare our own internal guidelines and remind our staff of the guidelines, regulations and laws governing client data protection.

We are obliged to maintain the contents of client data accurately at all times.

We are obliged to install sufficient precautionary measures to prevent unauthorized access to, sabotage to and loss of client data.

4.Responding to Client Request for Cessation of Usage

When a client requests us to disclose the contents of his confidential information in our custody, or to make corrections to them, or cease the use of them, we are obliged to do so promptly after necessary verification.
